The Alberta Rural Development Network (ARDN) hosts this national conference in partnership with the Canadian Rural Revitalization Foundation (CRRF) and Olds College, Oct. 11-13 in Olds, Alberta. How do regions affect rural communities in Alberta and across Canada?

Regions. What are they? Do they matter? How do they affect rural communities in Alberta and across Canada? Join us in exploring these questions through keynote speakers, presentations and posters, workshops and discussions, and panel sessions.

Rural community members and leaders, researchers and academics from post-secondary institutions across Canada, representatives from all levels of government and rural community-based organizations will come together to examine how regions impact rural development.

Our keynote speakers — Rob Greenwood, Dave Ivan, Peter Kenyon, June Holley, and Cornelia Butler Flora — are academics and authors, coaches and coordinators, and enthusiasts and experts in the realm of community development.
