CALL FOR SPEAKERS and INNOVATIVE THINKERS

We are looking for speakers for TEDxAnnapolisValley who are passionate to share ideas about rural communities and groups -- speakers with unique or breathtaking ideas, plans, visions, concepts or achievements.

TEDx has become a worldwide phenomenon. To speak at a TEDx event is an honour -- an opportunity to share “Ideas Worth Spreading”, freely, both locally and globally. Dynamic speakers have great ideas, are passionate and can deliver an engaging message. They have something significant to contribute to the theme of a TEDx event. They work within a successful framework to bring together diverse backgrounds and experiences.

TEDxAnnapolisValley is to be held in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, on Saturday, May 14th 2011 at the Al Whittle Theatre. The event theme is “Ideas that Connect and Empower Rural Communities”. The event will up to about eight speakers with an audience limited to 100 persons. Speakers will be recorded on high quality video and audio, and have their presentations delivered to TED.com for global exposure under their banner.

TEDx speakers typically come from a broad background -- health and welfare, agriculture, sports, business, tourism, social and applied science, performing and visual arts, research, philosophy, economic development, resources, environment, comedy, etc..

We invite you to submit your name, affiliation, proposed title and a 100-150 word summary of your proposed message to TEDxAnnapolisValley@gmail.com ASAP. Feel free to forward this notice to others who you believe have rural ideas worth sharing.

Further details, rules and guidelines will be forwarded to selected, potential speakers.
